Usage

What is an "album"?
PhotoMeister organizes photos in albums. An album simply is a folder (directory) on your disk, usually in the My Documents\My Pictures folder. You can set any directory to be your album root directory where the directories for all albums are stored.

How can I change the order of the photos in an album?
Please use the menu entry File|Photo Order.

How do I rename a photo?
Simply edit the name in the edit field below the photo preview in the main window!

How can I zoom and pan an image?
You can zoom into a photo by placing the mouse pointer on the image and scrolling the mouse wheel. Click and hold the right mouse button to move the zoomed photo.

Does PhotoMeister support the clipboard?
You can copy the current photo to the clipboard using Edit|Copy. Then use Edit|Paste in any other application to use the photos there. Using Edit|Paste you can copy any photo from the clipboard into an album.

What is the difference between "DUMP PHOTO" and "DELETE PHOTO"?
If you dump a photo it is not visible in the album any more. But you can restore it later at any time. If you delete a photo it is moved into the computer's recycle bin and may not be restoreable. But deleting photos will save disk space.

How can I set the program called when "Editor" is clicked?
The application started by clicking the "Editor" button can be set using the Tools|Options command.

Where is the "resize image" function?
Use "Tools|Resize Photo" function. Also there is a "Resize" feature in the "Batch" function that processes a whole album or several or a single photo.

How can I edit photo comments?
To change photo comments (e.g. when creating an HTML album, Photomeister asks if you want to include each photo's "comments" with the photo) please select the menu entry View|Comments and edit the comments in the second edit field below the photo preview in the main window!

Printing

When printing "Prints", why aren't photos in the exact dimensions I selected?
PhotoMeister sizes the photos to maximize them inside the printing dimensions you select without distorting them (keeping the aspect ratio intact). If you request a different aspect ratio than the photos have you will never get the size you entered - but the maximum size possible. We believe that the user would rather want undistorted images than the exact size.

Licensing

May I give away slideshows and screensavers created with PhotoMeister?
Definitely, that’s what PhotoMeister is made for. You may give away the slideshows and screensavers created with PhotoMeister without royalties to anyone for free or you may charge for it and you do not have to pay us for that. You must of course have the rights to the photos you publish using PhotoMeister!
